2 Corinthians 12:7-10 The Journey Through Weakness
Esther Liu
-
How do you define weakness? Is it the same as sin?
-
Is a thorn any sort of pain we feel?
-
Why is our generation so bad at embracing suffering? Do we suffer more, or is it something wrong with us?
-
Helpless and powerless
-
In the suffering, is there sin? If there is sin, what do you do about it?
-
“My grace is sufficient” for just the next step
- the grace sufficient to know love and be loved
- it doesn’t mean, ‘you will feel fine and things will go well’
- culture esteems self-sufficiency and strength
- do we pray so that we won’t need to trust God any more?
- do we believe that we must earn and deserve love?
- those who know they are needy know the love of God that they always needed
- shame and failure from falling short of what standard?
- how to build a strong community of Christlike love
- the grace sufficient to grieve our thorns
- when people see our suffering, they may not want our lives, but can we live in such a way that they would want our God?
- people you can love better b/c of your thorns (2 Cor 1)
- the grace sufficient to see good fruit despite and in the midst of our thorns
